Master Slave

When words aren't necessary sometimes all that's needed is a good instrumental. Think about it, babies feel so deeply long before they can speak. Animals feel. People with disabilities that prevent the ability to speak. We do not need words to emote. Words can actually really complicate and clog things too often. In my yoga practice, which is still pretty new, I find that I respond strongly to sounds and vibrations. I have always loved African music as well for its tribal, ancient sounds. We are built to respond to sound, but the noisiness of life so often interferes with the purity of what our ears are capable of absorbing. Audible pollution.

SONG OF THE DAY

Listen to Master Slave by Pearl Jam

I love Master Slave. It is a collection of very deep sounds that really takes me over. It is soothing yet strengthening. This album, Ten by Pearl Jam, was high school for me. Since adolescence is such a whacked out emotional time, we get so attached to music from that period in our lives. Eddie Vedder, a true messenger of music and love, is supposedly hands down the biggest uber mensch in the music industry. How incredible to have that reputation after so many decades? I mean people seem to LOVE this guy. It makes sense, his beautiful pure heart has put forth so much into the world. Which is why this masterpiece is still so impactful.

Truth never fades. The need for it only increases with time, especially today. Technology gets in the way of real, honest, whole sound. We are not meant to hear blips, beeps, robots, and dings all day. We are meant to hear this. This tune is quite interesting. Focus on one sound or all of them. Either way is mesmerizing. This is so symbolic to me, focus on yourself and focus on the world. It's all necessary. Ultimately we are a master collaboration. And we need far less than we think we do. Simple is often better. I love words but they can be roadblocks. Master Slave reminds us we don't need to speak out truth, we ARE our truth. Thank you, Eddie. What a gift you are. Thank you for reminding us that actions speak louder than words.
